Kline & Company Congratulates Mac (Malcolm) Young On His Retirement!

Mac is a cheerful, optimistic, and friendly individual who has naturally cultivated great relationships among Kline & Company Team members and clients as well. Everyone enjoyed working with Mac! His upbeat and infectious personality, dedication, and extensive knowledge of FAR are just a few of the traits which made him an outstanding and valued member of our firm. Mac always exudes a positive attitude and has gained the reputation of “going the extra mile” for both colleagues and clients alike.

Prior to his career in accounting, Mac proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy. He then spent several years at the Portsmouth Naval shipyard as a civilian.

Fred Kline met Mac when he was a Senior Auditor at DCAA. Mac often worked with small contractors (during the previous timeframe when DCAA encouraged auditors to educate small businesses on becoming DCAA Compliant). Just before Mac joined the Kline & Company Team, DCAA changed its focus to strictly auditing. The former mentoring services are now provided by outside accounting consultants such as Kline & Company— who are within the unique niche of specializing in FAR and supporting Federal Government Contractors.

In addition to Mac’s accounting projects at the firm, he often wrote articles for the Kline & Co website and also authored a book with Fred Kline entitled “DCAA Compliance: Keys to Ensuring your Success”— which is available on Amazon.

After 14 years at Kline & Company, Mac now resides in Florida during the winter months with his wife Norma.
